Alex Harrison is a sport physiologist, endurance nutrition expert, product and content creator, and now software engineer. He is the founder of Saturday Inc., a sports nutrition technology company whose flagship product — Saturday: Pro Fuel & Hydration — is a mobile app that delivers personalized, science-based fueling and hydration plans for endurance athletes. While leading software engineering at Saturday Inc, he is simultaneously enrolled in Purdue University’s Graduate School of Engineering.
Harrison previously served as Lead Endurance Consultant at Renaissance Periodization (2015–2024), where he developed the Endurance Macro Calculator and co-authored The RP Diet for Endurance with Dr. Melissa Davis and Michelle Howe, MS, CSCS, RD, CSSD. He has authored over 30 articles for publications including Triathlete, Slowtwitch, and TrainingPeaks, and has been quoted as an expert source in Runner’s World, Men’s Journal, Nike, Self, Shape, POPSUGAR, Healthline, and others. Since beginning his coaching career in 2007, he has coached approximately 1,700 athletes — from Olympic medalists to national and state champions — through Excelerate Sport, RPstrength, and TrainingPeaks.
Harrison is a former Team USA Bobsled athlete (2014–2018), competing at the 2015 World Championships in Winterberg, Germany and on the World Cup circuit. He is also a former NCAA Division II All-American decathlete, GNAC Decathlon Champion, and currently competes as a Category 1 cyclist and age-group triathlete. Harrison occasionally moonlights as a traveling consultant for his sought-after boblsed push coaching and integrative problem-solving skills by smaller winter sporting nations. His most prized achievements and his relentless pursuit of innovation, have not come from witnessing firsthand the stark needs of so many, well beyond sport, health, and wellness, and humanity’s catastrophic inability to meet them.
